Bearing care:

Ball bearings should be cleaned in solvent and dipped in light oil after use

Burning:

Feeding the bit too slowly causes fiction and burning.
Blunt cutters will also cause fiction and burning.
Blunt cutters will also cause burning aggravated by a fast feed rate.
