The Triton Owners'
Club (A.C.T.) Inc.
is a club for all owners of Triton woodworking products.

 
 


1. Preamble

The Triton Owner’s Club ACT (the Club) was incorporated as an association in the Australian Capital Territory on 9 Jan 1997 (Registered Number A 2863). Unless otherwise specified in this Constitution, the Club follows the Model Rules from Section 15 of the 1991 No. 31 Associations Incorporation Regulations Schedule, of the Australian Capital Territory Regulations.

2. Objects of the Club


  • To provide education and training on the correct use and setting up of Triton products and other machinery used for working with wood.

  • To provide financial and practical support to certain organisations and charities as decided by the members and agreed to by the committee
  • To promote good fellowship among those interested in working with wood
  • To promote and educate members in matters relating to Occupational Health & Safety (OH&S) as an ongoing requirement

    3. Membership Categories


    The Club offers membership in the following categories: Full, Junior, Family, Country, Life and Honorary.

    4. Membership Criteria


    Full Membership is open to all owners of Triton products or persons having use of a Triton to the satisfaction of the Committee.
    Junior Membership is open to persons who are eligible for full membership but who are 17 years or under as at 1st July in the membership year.
    Family Membership is open to members of the same family, living at the same address who would individually be eligible for full or junior membership.
    Country Membership is open to persons who would otherwise be eligible for full membership but who reside more than 100 km from the normal meeting venue.
    Life Membership may be offered by the Committee to those persons who have provided the Club with significant assistance and active support.
    Honorary Membership may be offered by the Committee to those persons who have been a member of the club continuously for a period of 6 years or more and can no longer regularly attend meetings due to infirmity or other circumstances.

    5. Membership Entitlements


    Full Members are entitled to:
    a.      attend club meetings,
    b.      to stand for office,
    c.      to vote General Club Meetings,
    d.      a Triton Owners' Club (A.C.T.) cap,
    e.      a copy of each newsletter (by e-mail or by post),
    f.       the discounts (on presentation of current membership card),
    g.      the use of the club facilities,
    h.      participation in any bulk buys of equipment, and
    i.      any special activities which are conducted at various times throughout the year.
    Junior Members are entitled to the same benefits as full members, with the exception that they cannot vote at General Club Meetings or stand for office.
    Family Members are entitled to the same benefits as individual full members or junior members as appropriate, with the exception that only one mail-out (newsletter etc) will be sent to the family at the nominated address.
    Country Members are entitled to the same benefits as full members, with the exception that they cannot stand for office due to the impracticality of attending committee meetings.
    Life Members are entitled to the same benefit as full members, and in particular:
    a.      will retain their badge number,
    b.      will continue to enjoy all benefits of active membership including access to rebates, discounts, and newsletters,
    c.      will be entitled to vote on club business, and
    d.      will be entitled to stand for office.
    Honorary Members:
    a.      will retain access to the newsletter,
    b.      will not receive the financial benefits of club membership,
    c.      will not be entitled to vote on club business,
    d.      will not be entitled to stand for office, and
    e.      will be considered to have lapsed if two club communications (including emails) are returned unclaimed.

    6. Membership Fees


    The Membership Year runs from 1 July to 30 June of the following year.
    The Full Membership Annual fee will be set by the committee on or before 1 July each year and shall stay fixed for a period of one year.
    The Junior Membership Annual fee will be set to 60% of the Full Membership Annual fee.
    The Country Membership Annual fee will be set to 60% of the Full Membership Annual fee.
    The Family Membership Annual fee will be set to 140% of the Full Membership Annual fee.
    The Life Membership and Honorary Membership Annual fees will be set to zero dollars ($0.00).
     

    Note 1: If new members pay their fee on or before 31 December, the full annual fee is payable.
    Note 2: If new members pay their membership fee between 01 January and 01 April, the annual fee is reduced by 40%.
    Note 3: If new members pay their fee after 01 April, the full annual fee is payable, but membership will be extended to 30 Jun of the subsequent year.
    Note 4: If the calculated fee computes to a non whole dollar value, then the fee shall be raised to the nearest whole dollar value.

    7. Surplus Property

    For the purposes of Paragraph 92(1)(b) of the Associations Incorporation Act 1991, and in accordance with Paragraph 38(1)(b) of the Model Rules, the Ginninderra Lions Club is the specified organisation to receive all surplus property in the event of the dissolution or winding up of the Triton Owner’s Club ACT Inc.
